- Meridian Ave E Corridor Study
Meridian Ave E Corridor Study
Project Overview
- The Edgewood City Council recently passed Resolution 24-0741, adopting the Meridian Corridor Study and authorizing the Mayor “to diligently pursue available funding sources for the design and construction of the various improvement sites, as time and resources allow.” The resolution also states “that the recommendations contained within the study are only recommendations, subject to future design and review efforts.”
- This study was conducted by the City of Edgewood in an effort to assess multimodal access, safety, and environmental needs along Meridian Avenue, from 24th Street E to the southern City limits at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing. Key intersections have been analyzed, and strategies and concepts have been developed to improve this corridor for all users. In support of this effort, the City solicited input from the general public through outreach events and a public survey, as well as a few locations along the corridor. The recommendations from this study are being considered under the ongoing Comprehensive Plan Update (more information available here Project Overview Project Overview Project Overview Project Overview).
- In summary, the study recognizes the need and demand for improvements, but the design of each improvement is not final and subject to future design and coordination efforts. The City does not currently have a timeline for this future work, but additional outreach will occur as specific sites are prioritized and budgeted for design.
