Edgewood's Commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI)
At Edgewood, we believe that a vibrant community is built on the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. Our commitment to EDI is integral to fostering an environment where every resident feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute. On July 28, 2020 the Edgewood City Council passed Resolution No. 20-512, which speaks to the city’s commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
We recognize that our city is enriched by a tapestry of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. Through proactive initiatives, community engagement, and collaborative partnerships, we aim to eliminate barriers, celebrate our differences, and ensure that all voices are heard.
Our EDI Efforts encompass:
- Equitable Access: Striving to create fair opportunities for all residents in public service and resources.
- Inclusive Community Engagement: Encouraging participation from all segments of our community in decision-making processes.
- Diverse Representation: Promoting diversity within our workforce and leadership to reflect the community we serve.
Together, we are committed to making Edgewood a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone. Join us as we work towards a future where equity and inclusion are at the heart of all we do.
Council and city staff have completed upwards of 20 hours of EDI Trainings.
