Pets & Peds on Patrol!

The Edgewood Police Department is seeking help from our wonderful residents, both 2 legged and 4 legged, to be the additional eyes and ears needed to help build a safer community in Edgewood. Pets & Pedestrians on Patrol is a crime awareness program that enlists dog walkers to work in partnership with police to keep YOUR neighborhood safe.

There are dozens, if not hundreds, of neighborhood dog walkers throughout the community every day. These walkers are often preoccupied with texting, talking, or listening to music. Why not use this time to be aware of activity in YOUR neighborhood? You and your pet can be extra eyes and ears for the police by reporting criminal and suspicious activity, people, and vehicles.

We teach you to be observant when you are out walking your pet. We want you to be aware of who and what is around you. We train and empower you to report any suspicious or criminal activity that you observe to the police. It’s that simple!

The goal of Pets & Pedestrians on Patrol is to let criminals know our walkers will report suspicious activity.  When criminals know they are being watched and reported, they will go somewhere else!
