If someone else was driving your vehicle at the time of the infraction, you can download and fill out an Affidavit of Non-Liability form. If more than one owner is listed on the registration, all owner’s signatures are required on this form. Once completed, the form must be sent to Pierce County District Court. Failure to pay the infraction will result in the debt being sent to collections. Two or more unpaid infractions will suspend the ability to renew the vehicle’s registration tabs.

The school zone cameras perform a daily automated internal tuning for accuracy.  In addition, the system takes two pictures that measure a start point (point A) to an endpoint (point B), which provides a distance over time measurement.  This measurement is used to confirm the velocity picked up by the radar, as well as if the vehicle continued into the school zone.  The cameras have an external calibration done monthly and the results are provided to District Court for verification.
