[ARCHIVED] Herbacide Spraying May 3-4

Edgewood has an annual herbicide program to keep vegetation from growing at the edge of the roadway, which allows runoff to get off the road surface during rain events and into the ditches. This year’s annual spraying program will be this Tuesday and Wednesday, May 3rd and 4th.

The herbicide is not applied to the ditch bottoms, we use the same herbicide that is acceptably used by Pierce County Roads Maintenance, and can confirm it is not Roundup.

As we understand it, the herbicide is applied sparingly, readily absorbed by the vegetation, and is not considered hazardous within 45 minutes of the application.

If you would like to opt-out next year, please contact city hall at (253) 952-3299 for more information on our Owner Maintain program.
