Governor Inslee issued Proclamation 20-28 on March 24, 2020, waiving and suspending any in-person requirements in the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA) and the Public Records Act (PRA). He then extended that order on April 2, through May 4, 2020 and again on May 4, 2020 through May 31, 2020. The proclamation is intended to reduce unnecessary person-to-person contact to slow the spread of COVID-19. The City of Edgewood will continue to hold Council Study Sessions and regular Council Meetings virtually via Zoom. This method does allow public to join and participate in a meeting telephonically and/or virtually through a web-based video conference. City Hall is currently closed to the public and there will be no in-person option to attend meetings. However, all meetings will also be recorded, and the recordings will be available to the public. Please note, study sessions are meetings for Council to review upcoming and pertinent business of the city, no final action is taken by the City Council. Study Session are open to the public, but public input is reserved for the regular Council meetings. During this time period, the City Council may take action only on necessary and routine matters, or other matters necessary to address the COVID-19 outbreak and public health emergency. Participants can alternatively submit written comments to firstname.lastname@example.org. All written comments must be received prior to 5:00pm on the day of the regularly scheduled meeting.
